So you received your Original Medicare card with Part A & Part B (AKA Original Medicare)...Now what? Choosing your Medicare coverage now comes down to deciding whether Medicare Supplement Plans (AKA Medigap) or Medicare Advantage Plans (AKA Part C) are right for you.
Medicare Supplements/ Medigap
A health insurance plan sold by private insurance companies to fill the gaps in Original Medicare. This plan includes a monthly premium, in addition to the Part B premium, but also offers freedom & flexibility to receive Medicare-approved healthcare anywhere that accepts Original Medicare.
Medicare Advantage Plans/ Part C
An "all-in-one" alternative to Original Medicare. These bundled plans typically include Part A, Part B and Part D. These are the plans aggressively advertised on TV as "zero premium plans", and often include provider network restrictions as well as extras like dental, vision and no cost over-the-counter benefits.
